Plant Shopping and etc

May 15th, 2008 by misadventuresofmarla

From May 13th

Jeremy and I went to Lowe’s yesterday morning to pick out plants for the yard at our new house. We can’t wait to plant them.
Here is what we got so far:
Venus fly trap (Houseplant)
Cobra Lily (carnivorous lily! Houseplant)
Sundew (Another Carnivorous Houseplant)
Dark Eyes Gem Calla Lily (I love Calla lilies)
Japanese Maple Tree
Apple Tree
Nectarine Tree

I also finally got around to dying my hair. That green had to come out. It was starting to turn blond. So my hair is back to its original color for now, black. I contemplated getting rid of my Mohawk but changed my mind. I’ll keep it a while longer. Jeremy actually gave in and used chemical dye on his hair too. He usually only uses indigo and henna but it just doesn’t color as well. It is also, in my opinion, a much bigger pain the ass. It just irritates me to use henna. I’m not real big on chemical products. I would much prefer to use herbal if I can. They are usually simple to make, cost less to make than to buy a chemical product, and much better for you. Henna is the exception, for me. I just can’t stand it. I’m not patience enough to use it. I much prefer a bottle of hair dye and just 30 minutes of my time. Jeremy doesn’t mind henna and enjoys using it but we had an extra bottle of dye and he was sick of his hair being coppery so he just gave in. He has not used chemical dye in forever. There is still some auburn color in his hair that the black dye did not cover but I think that is because of the henna use previously. It looks great though!

I finally talked to amanda yesterday. (A friend of mine currently living in Colorado) I haven’t talked to her in months. She said she is moving to California on the 29th of this month. I hope she knows what she is doing. I tried shamelessly to get her to move to North Carolina so I had somebody to hang out with but she refused.  Well, hopefully our friend Juleya and her daughter will still be able to visit this summer.

Today we bought a deep cleaner, finally! This is mainly due to our Tittie Boy’s wonderful new habit of shitting in the dining room. Getting out the scrub brush and bucket 3+ times a day and scrubbing the floor gets old really quick. After months of that we decided we HAD to get a deep cleaner. After all we have tried to get him to stop I think we just got to the point where it was easier to play offense instead of defense. Instead of trying to force him to use the litter pan with tricks and treats, we are now just going to grit our teeth and bare it. Clean it up every day, deep clean, and hope for the best results. We don’t really “punish” him for it because we know they associate punishment literally. Meaning if we punish him for shitting on the floor he thinks it was for shitting period. Then he will be afraid to shit at all. This is what the vet said. So we are supposed to reward him and praise him affectionately every time he uses the litter pan and sort of ignore him slightly if he goes in the dining room. After cleaning up his shit and shit stains in the dining room almost every day and usually more like 2 – 3 times a day, that is really hard! Sometimes you just want to pick him up and scream at him…but you don’t because he is too sweet to do that too. He really is an awesome cat. They both are. I can not believe they are 4 already! (They turned four last month) Me and Jeremy’s brother Chris (Tittie boy’s owner) got them when they were only around 5 months old. Me and Jeremy have full custody because we don’t want to split them up. They are brother and sister and have been together since birth so when Chris (Jeremy’s brother) moved he let me and Jer keep both of them.

This is it for now.
