Well, we found out yesterday that the seller has agreed to do some repairs. He agreed to fix the brick foundation, replace the 31 year old hot water heater, and hire a plumber to fix all the leaks. It wasn’t everything we asked for but its the most expensive repairs needed so Jeremy agreed.
I just hope the repairs don’t push the closing date back. We close in a month and that is when our lease is up. We’ll only have a few days to move as it is. We close on the last Friday of June and have to hand in our apartment keys on that coming Monday. So we’ll have that weekend to move. Jeremy works Friday, Saturday, and Sunday so me and my dad will just move most of it while Jer is at work.
Truth be told we were sort of hoping the seller wouldn’t fix anything. That way we could check out something else. A lady Jeremy works with has a home for sale on a acre of land on the other side of the city. She has kept up on it but wants to get rid of it. She owes $60,000 on it yet and was willing to sell it for that. Its just a rental property for her and the currant tenant did not want to buy it from her. So she would have sold it to Jeremy. It would have been cheaper, more land, and a bigger house I’m sure…However, we’re stuck with this little cottage we are in the process of buying. We could just back out and lose our earnest money and stuff but we’d rather not do that. So, we’ll just make do with what we are getting and sell it in a few years for something better.
I just can’t believe that the state of North Carolina has been in a bad draught for like 3 years and we had to get the one property that is water-logged! I don’t know a lot about gardening but I’m hoping that the trees we are planting will help soak up some that water.
We are also going to stop smoking in the house once we move. Maybe that will help with my asthma. I know, what would help would be to FUCKING QUIT SMOKING! I know, but I really love to smoke. Its great. I’ve tried to quit so many times but I just keep going back to it. I’m not one of those people that blame a lack of willpower or how addictive cigarettes are for my continuing to smoke all these years. I’ll be the first to admit it. I LOVE TO SMOKE! That is my problem. I can’t quit because I don’t want to quit. Well, in a way I do, but not enough to stop myself. I have horrible allergies though so if I have to brave the pollen and stuff everytime Iwant a smoke I may end up cutting down. We actually tried to cut smoking out of the apartment partway. We only smoke in our bedroom where our kitties aren’t allowed. It did not work, I live in the bedroom now…
Tittie Boy is still frantically shitting all over the dining room. Atleast we finally have a deep cleaner so we can better clean everytime he does it. He is such a little bastard! I’ve even tried soaking the carpet in vinegar and he still likes to shit on it. Nothing fazes the Big Shit Hog!
