I haven’t been crafting much lately but I did revamp an old oak shelf we had laying around. I found a website (http://www.kittybuttons.com/stencils/categories/index.html) that offered free stencils to print out. They had a bunch of betty page so I thought, “Betty Page goes with everything!”. I think I got the link to that website from a post on PRD. (http://www.punkrockdomestics.com/) I love that forum!
Anyway…. Introducing, The Notorious Betty Page Shelf!
It would have looked better if I had Modge Podge but I’m poor so I couldn’t afford to spend $8 for a bottle. I ended up using what I had laying around the house: Tacky glue, acrylic spray sealer, and Future floor wax. Future is an acrylic floor wax. I mainly use it for sealing polymer clay projects but it works for a shit load of other stuff as well. Plus it lasts forever.
The shelf still came out pretty good though. I really love it. Its simple looking but fun.
I still can’t wait to attack the new house!
